Welcome to Folha Verde
We are a natural education project, born in 2018, nestled in a beautifully restored olive press in the mountains of central Portugal.
We are an association that supports home-educating families in our local community. We believe that children are capable, inspiring individuals, and together we are exploring a path of learning built on trust and mutual respect.
We are an international, bi-lingual project that focuses on group work and emotional intelligence. In small learning groups kids are supported to learn the core parts of the Portuguese curriculum. We also operate a forest school in a magical setting one day a week,.
Our Jardim (kindergarten) welcomes children from age three and up, while our Big Kids group includes learners aged six to around fourteen.
Rather than following a fixed pedagogy, our approach grows organically, allowing facilitators and children to learn and evolve together.
At the heart of our practice is a culture of empowerment; where emotional intelligence, communication, and collaboration are valued as essential skills for life and learning.
